May 31-June1, 1862: Battle of Seven Pines - Badly wounded

June 27-28, 1862: Battle of Gaines Mill

September 14, 1862: Battle of South Mountain

September 17, 1862: Battle of Antietam

May 1-4, 1862: Battle of Chancellorsville - Temporarily placed in command of the Corps when Gen. Jackson was mortally wounded

Rodes joined the II Corps under Gen. Ewell

June 13-15, 1863: 2nd Battle of Winchester

July 1-3, 1863: Battle of Gettysburg

September 19, 1864: 3rd Battle of Winchester - Died on the field when struck in the back of the head by a Union shell fragment
